Ordinary Life

slow morning is a blessing :)

Trekking to "Bukit Kuneer" in Wonosari tea plantation

Do you guys know?

After my last adventure day trip exploring Batu with a foreigner made me wanna explore more and more ✌️
I have an idea to explore my country Indonesia.
Yep, a country that has many cultural, races, and even languages.
I imagining.. how it would be? if i have chance to visit 38 provinces 😉
Sounds crazy enough right?
But yea, i wanted to be realistic. I think that's my BIG goal in the moment, to achieve that goal i need well prepared until great execution.

I'm grateful with my current job, 'cause it gaves me enough time to explore during my days off, i have flexible days. It's better than my previous job that i felt stuck in a cage for very long hours.

Maybe later, i will let you know about my journey dealing with career and life.

But for now, i'll share my experience when i explored Tea Plantation near Malang City while ago, trekking to a hill that called "Bukit Kuneer" till i met new friends that they're couple from Netherland.

What am i doing there?

How it goes?

Happy reading, and stay tuned :)

...

By the way, you can go check out my youtube video first before i write the informations below and telling you my story behind (off the record actually)

Happy watching :)

...

45 mins from Malang City

2 hours from Surabaya City

Operational hours : 07.00 - 17.00 Wib (7 am-5 pm),

Highly recommend to go early in the morning to enjoy the vibes and see the tea pickers doing work.

There are many things to explore in this place, if you have plenty of time you can stay in one of the cottages or in the hotel.

Outdoor activity is another good point, build your tent and enjoy your camping start from IDR 35 thousand for one person.

The place has public facilities too Toilet, parking area, pray room, restaurant, souvenir shop.

Many entertainment to do, watching live music in the restaurant, flying fox, ATV, go watch how tea being produced in a factory.

How much for the entry ticket?

(The prices can changes!!)

I'm bit confused about the actual price honestly, cause the last time my co-worker told me they're paid IDR 25 thousand/person (include parking)

But it cost me only IDR 17 thousand include parking. What? Am i lucky guy? 😅

Okay that only the entry ticket, we should pay for other attractions or facility such a swimming pool (it cost me IDR 10 thousand but i think the pool is suitable for kids 😂) it has fish therapy to try!

I think those bit information i can give, hopefully can help! And start considering to visit this place one day 😉

Then now, i will let you know about my story..

...

Long story short, a night before i spent night hangout with one of my good friend in Malang. We get some coffee and talked about many things (mostly share thoughts and talking about life)

Till tomorrow i'll be free and day off work, spountaneosly i stayed in my good friend's house which is near with my mom. I wanted to stayed at her as a first plan but she didn't response my text probably was late night at that time 😅

Then i told my friend if tomorrow i want to visit the tea plantation before i visit my mom. Unfortunately my friend can't join me this time.

Well that's okay, so i'm going solo like usually haha..

In fact this is not my first time visiting the tea plantation, my first experience was long time ago.. when i was a little boy haha, time flies!! Probably between 2005-2008 i ever had once went to this place for picnic and swim during summer season, i don't really remember the detail memory.. but surely everything has changes since i'm back here as an adult now.

After parking my bike i'm bit confused where to go.. solo traveling bit scary and confusing some times for introvert like me, so i decided to go.. following sign that written "bukit kuneer" or kuneer hill in english version.

I arrived in a mid day, luckily the weather super friendly at that time, it's windy and i see many young couples did trekking or just hangout together.

The silly moment for me personally when i realised that i didn't wore proper shoes. I left my shoes at home just in case if the rain suddenly comes. But actually is not! Haha what a crap 😅 alright at least i did like what a quote said "preps your umbrella before the rain comes" even tho i got prank and sore with feet haha..

Another silly is.. i forgot to bring or brought any water or snacks with me! Great, jenius guy huhu 😑

No matter what happens this trip should be well ended! (Motivate my self every time tired during the trekking)

Not gonna lie, for someone who is really rare doing sport like me, with no water, sunny season, only wore flip flop.. the trip felt challanging.

The good side is i can see tea pickers working, and say hello to one of them, they're friendly anyway haha..

After did trekking for about 20-30 mins finally i arrived in Bukit Kuneer, it cost me IDR 10 thousand to enter the area.

First impression is there are many house trees, sitting area and spot that you can used for photoshoot.. by the way if you bring and used digital lens camera you will be charged for fees. I think sometimes they're couples doing prewedding photography in here,.

After look around i didn't found empty spot. Many visitors and i'm bit not enjoyed it, so i explore around and stay in quiet spot for a bit.

After taking a break i went to hike in a high photo spot and cheese!!

I took a picture haha..

I only have 4 hours to explore this place before i'm back to my mom's house at that time.

So, i'm planning to go back. Before that i need to explore the main area. Lucky me some people went back too so i don't really felt lonely.

After that i went explore the main area. I'm sure so many things we explore in here..

There are armies walk around, i think this place is army center too?

I walk in front of the cottages, kindergarten, and starting to see touristic spot.

I thought that i should start my trip from here haha 😅 so i can bring some snacks and water, cause it has canteen already here.

Well, so i explore around and i see a park, playland, public toilet, souvenir shop, tea factory, and i heard the army singing a song in live music restaurant.

I see two foreigners but they are go away. Also i see group of kindergarten doing outing class.

The next plan is i wanted to visit the swimming pool. If it possible i want to swim for bit to clean my sweats.

I pay IDR 10 Thousand for the ticket, i see another foreigners here too.

There are kids swimming in the pool. I figure out that this place especially the pool is suitable for kids haha..

So i cancelled my plan for swim. And decide to used the toilet here before i leave.

Then i met with a couple foreigners. After from toilet we are say hello and talk a bit.

I told them i just came back from trekking, and they are curious about the spot.

So we introduced oulselves, and being friends haha..

I got new friends from this trip, Sandy and jac, they're from Netherland.

Finally i join them to show and trekking to Bukit kuneer once again. This time we start from another path from the main area.

I would say this time is better. Since i have friends to talk, the track bit friendly 😅

So happy to meet new people. I can hear their amazing stories, travel experience, and our perspective.

This is so nice, friendship between Indonesia and Netherland (the dutch) out of colonial issues from past.

Life must go on, and we can learn from the past :)

Once again!! We arrived at Bukit Kuneer. This time they cover up my ticket and bought me for drink. Thank you! I appreciate that.

I was not expecting if the man who selling beverages can speak netherland language. The couple, me, and local men share good conversation during our break. That was memorable :)

There are young guys want to picture with the couple. As you know i'm the photographer haha..

After that, it's my turn to take some pictures.

Cheese!!!

Time to go back, yeay! I have new friends.

Hopefully we probably meet in somewhere.

I'm grateful cause they are enjoy our time even tho it short 😅 me too.

The reason why i enjoy solo traveling is i'm possible to meet new people and talking with them.

Differently while have travel buddies, mostly i focused on them.

I hope you guys who read this story can be inspired, and i hope the informations could be useful :)
